I just want to thank you for putting up with the angst-fest that was my last post. I’d apologize for subjecting you to that, but all the things I talked about are part of who I am. No escaping it. And thank you to those who left me comments, they made me smile…
I *am* apologizing for the infrequent updates. Have had quite a bit more on my plate lately, but hopefully will sort myself out and post more.
—
So I got tagged and lessthanthree-ed by The Fury and Sasha Sappho respectively =) Since both involve tagging 7 people back, I’m going to combine the two ~ I’m probably so late with this that all the people I wanted to tag have already been tagged, but oh well…
Here are the tag rules:
-Thou shalt link to your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
-Thou shalt share 7 facts about yourself on your blog – some random, some weird.
-Thou shalt tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blog.
-And let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
And here are my 7 facts…
1. I turned 21 today! Funny thing is that I just went to buy rum and the person working the cashier thought I was underage. The drinking age here is 18. When I complained about it to my dorm-mates, they acted very nonchalant and unsurprised, and proceeded to tell me that, in all honesty, I looked 12-14. Wow, thanks guys.
2. I lost my virginity to a Blink 182 song. Case in point of “life optimizing for maximum irony.” I hate Blink 182 and nu-punk; it’s some of the most immature music I’ve ever heard.
3. I love good cheese. Brie, camembert, gouda and danish blue are some of my favorites.
4. I grind my teeth when I sleep. I found out a while ago that it’s actually a condition called bruxism. I don’t know when it started, but if anyone shares a bed with me often enough they eventually notice and get freaked out. What can I say, at least it’s not as annoying as snoring.
5. I’m pretty geeky in the sense that I love anime and graphic novels – but selectively. Most of the time I don’t like the popular animes. I love Neil Gaiman and Alan Moore’s work. And I would game a lot more if I had the time and money. I’m a huge fan of Final Fantasy.
6. I’m a big fan of the Japanese Gothic Lolita fashion movement, and have a lot of clothes like that – if a little simpler. I like it partly because of the dark, Victorian aesthetic, but also, I think, partly because it combines “innocence” with sensuality. Didn’t bring any of those outfits with me to the Caribbean because I thought it would make me stand out tons more than I already do. Turns out I’m correct. People find me ‘too dressed up’ often enough, just because I wear clothes that aren’t just jeans and a T-shirt.
When I’m back at College I’m thinking of doing a Goth-Loli themed HNT =)
7. I had buck teeth as a child. It was pretty awful. I got made fun of a lot, obviously. Then I had braces for a few years, which pushed them ‘in’, and now I just have to wear retainers at night. I hate wearing them, so uncomfortable, and I keep forgetting to put them on.
And I’m tagging the 7 people who I’m about to give some love to…
Here are the <3 rules:
- Link to the giver.
- Nominate up to 7 other fabulous blogs and link to them.
- Leave comments announcing their rise to greatness.
**Note – You may have been given this already, so that means you are a GREAT blogger.
1. Sasha Sappho ((un)Scripted Sexuality) – I <3 your blog! You say you find me a kindred spirit – and I definitely feel the same. Reading about your abroad/college experiences, your anxieties (many of which are similar to mine…) and your thoughts on sex and relationships is always fascinating, and satisfying. Been hoping that I’ll be able to get to know you better as a person ~
2. Amalthea (Mental Masturbation) – I <3 your blog! What can I say… your writing is erotic and revealing. You’re so open and honest in your posts, and I feel like I learn so much about you from what you write. Doing that takes guts; and I really like that you do. And I must say that I’ve enjoyed your recent HNTs. You’re very attractive. Um. Moving on…
3. Essin’ Em (Sexuality Happens) – I <3 your blog! You don’t read this blog, and I can’t comment on yours because my silly college censors your website, but… Yours was one of the first sexblogs I found that I was really impressed and inspired by. Your blog is everything I think a sexblog should be… sexy, fun, personal, positive, and enlightening.
4. Zoe (On top of the sheets with the light on and your mom watching) – I <3 your blog! Zoe’s blog is now defunct, I’ve no idea why, but I can still access her archive from my RSS reader for some reason. Her blog was probably one of the first sexblogs I read when I was still contemplating whether or not to start my own. It was also one of the first sexblogs I read that was written by a sexy, intelligent, college-going woman, which at the time was a novel concept to me, and a big deal.
5. SublimeFemme (SublimeFemme Unbound) - I <3 your blog! Your observations on queerness and queer genders have taught me a lot. They’re also user-friendly enough for spacey people like me who have little (if any) knowledge on the topic. And I always enjoy your snarky, witty, sassy writing.
6. Sexual Adventurer (A Sexual Adventure) – I <3 your blog! Your sex stories are steamy and erotic, without being crass or cliche. I, literally, can never predict what will come next when you update. I also find something intriguing about you – you reveal so much and so little at the same time. I have to admit I have an ulterior motive for tagging you – I very much want to know more about the Sexual Adventurer.
7. Sex Geek - I <3 your blog! I can always count on learning something new from your insightful posts. Your blog has been a great resource for me, with my questions about BDSM, kink and queerness, especially.
And there we go =) Of course, I <3 a lot more blogs out there – some of which are pretty famous in the sexblogging world, and others with a smaller, but just as dedicated, following – nevertheless, they’re all awesome. Peruse my blogroll and check them out ~

Dear Wilhelmina
Nice post.
re the cheese: have you tried roquefort? Num num. I love the legend too.
re the teeth: my wife does this so badly that they gave her a “bite-plate” to have in her mouth while she sleeps. Are you by any chance a little stressive by nature? Mind you one of my cousins used to iron her shoelaces! Now that is bad.
Many happy returns! Hope you had a good one.
PL
p.s. I ♥ your blog!
I think Zoe was worried by how publicly her blog was linked to her real name and the effect it could have on employers etc.
Thank you, dear! Gotta love spreading the blog love around!
And, funny, I grind my teeth at night, too. They gave me a stupid night-guard and told me if I don’t start wearing it, I’ll have ground down my molars by the time I’m 30. Ew. That was WAY too much information. Sorry. I’m all over the place today.
Oh! Thank you!! I go back and forth in my mind thinking of you as Lovely Willy and Wilhemina, I hope neither offends you. I love pet names for people who I feel connected to in some way. Happy Birthday! I also love good mild cheeses, brie… camembert…. oh my word. I think I just had a mental imaginingcheesegasm. I also love Neil Gaiman, but don’t own anything myself. I would love for you to remember your own HNT idea here, I would love to see it!
good stuff. did you ever get a mouth guard? i have a friend that grinds her teeth in her sleep and she bought a guard for her mouth so her teeth aren’t damaged…interesting…
Thanks, and happy b’day! I’m flattered to be chosen by you and to be in such good company. I also love that you stated why you chose the bloggers you tagged, which I’ve never seen anyone else do. It’s such a nice touch!
The next time your on my blog take a look at this, which I hope will prove that I’ve satisfied my tagging obligations!

Also, given your love for the Gothic, you’ll probably want to check out my lesbian vampire post for Halloween. Let me know what you think!
Keep up the good stuff you’re doing on your blog!

PS Snarky? Me?!?
PS The Goth
Happy birthday, Wilhelmina! There will come a day when you take being carded as a compliment.
Re: PerfectLips – Thank you! I checked out the Roquefort and it looks awesome, I’ll have to try it. I tend to be quite anxious and neurotic at times, and worry and dwell on things probably too much than is good for me, maybe that’s why. I haven’t gotten to the point where I’m ironing shoelaces though, or ironing at all come to think about it…
Re: Jake – Ah, makes sense. I admire people who can actually write a sexblog under their real name, I’d NEVER be able to do it.
Re: Sasha – Haha, no problem. I’ve actually never gone to a dentist/doctor about it, but I may need a mouth guard too, who knows? Eeek.
Re: Amalthea – Thank you! And no I don’t mind the pet names at all, I think it’s cute =) And I’m glad that you feel connected to me in some way – I def. feel like I have a lot in common with you… don’t know if that’s wholly true… And I’ll probably do the GothLoli HNT as soon as I’m back at college and have my clothes, I miss wearing them!
Re: The Fury – Nope, I’ve never gone to the dentist about it, but I probably should…
Re: SublimeFemme – Thanks! Your halloween post looks awesome, I’m excited to read it! And you know I mean snarky in all the good ways.
Re: Merlin – Thank you! Yeah, you’re probably right, guess I should just enjoy it and laugh about it while I can…
Happy Fucking Birthday.
Also — I love nu-punk. Hmmph.
