A while ago I randomly signed up to answer an interview meme that Thursday’s Child started… I have plenty to talk about, but I’m sick, busy and not exactly in the right headspace to do that, so… here you go, some things you might want to know about me 
And definitely comment and participate if you want to be interviewed by me!
1. Where did you get your blog nom de plume, Wilhelmina Wang?
When I first thought of writing a sex column / sex blog (I initially toyed with the idea of writing the sex column in our college’s liberal publication but decided against it) I settled on the name Wilhelmina. I know I wanted something with many syllables that sounded kind of stylized and British but not horribly flowery. I had also recently read The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and thought one of the main characters, Wilhelmina Murray (yes, the one from Dracula) was extremely badass.
The Wang part came into existence because, well… alliteration, it sounds like a certain part of the male anatomy, and sounds like an Asian last name (since I’m ethnically half-Asian and culturally pretty Asian). It’s also a reference to the webcomic Penny Arcade. I don’t actually read PA because it’s so intently RPG-focused, and I don’t RPG, so I have no idea what’s going on in the comic, but it’s big in the webcomic world and gets mentioned by many other comics… Megatokyo, for example, which I read for a while.
2. You are going to be stranded on a desert island for six months and allowed one sex toy – what do you bring and why?
The Lelo Iris probably:
Why? I haven’t tried this product out before, but I love Lelo, the Iris is fucking pretty, is made of silicone, vibrates, and penetrates… what else can I say?
3. What was the best sex you’ve ever had, and what was the worst?
Oh, god. Best sex? So many times… mostly with Christopher and the Emperor. Like the time when Christopher and I had sex for the first time in a long a while, busy-ness I think was the reason for the dry spell, and he proceeded to finger-fuck me enthusiastically to orgasm so so many times; the time when I was at K’s and it was raining outside and soft jazz was playing and he cuffed my wrists to the top of his bed and delicately, gently licked me to completion; sitting on the Emperor’s face, and then fucking him so hard and completely with my fingers as he let himself slip into helpless abandon…
Worst sex? Also many times, except mostly for psychological reasons. Really the worst sex I’ve had in terms of mechanics was probably with the Boy, my first boyfriend, because both of us were virgins and had no idea what we were doing but also didn’t necessarily know how to meaningfully and openly discuss what we were doing either… But the sex I’ve had that I consider “the worst” – letting the Scientist fuck me in the ass for no real reason and feeling empty and apathetic afterwards; automated, boring, unpleasurable sex between me and my second boyfriend the Rationalist, because I was too passive and afraid and unconfident to say what I wanted and he was too unseeing and arrogant to ask; being in my first threeway with the Emperor and the Wanderer when I was still madly in love with the Emperor and felt intensely sad and jealous throughout the entire encounter; random sex with random people in the Caribbean…
4. How many pairs of shoes do you own, and which pair is your favorite?
I own 18 (excluding the pairs I intend to give away or get rid of).
My favorite pair of shoes are white Dr. Marten combat boot rip-offs I got from Hong Kong. Not exactly the most elegant, but they’re punky-goth awesome, comfortable, and make me feel like a badass.
5. What is something that would like to do in the next year that you’ve never done before (and not necessarily sexual)?
Live in an unfamiliar city by myself and be able to be self-sufficient.

I’m going to encourage Nimue to come over here and comment on her experiences with her Lelo Iris. You probably know I’ve written about it several times in my blog, about what a fantastic sex aid it is and how much enjoyment Nimue and I have derived from its use. The only thing about being stranded on an island with Iris is you’d need an island with a power outlet, because it needs a recharge every four hours or so. But then it might be fun to be fucked with it, even if its battery is dead.
Your response to the “best and worst sex” question echoes my observation that you can’t have sex without one or more great partners, or an emotional bond with them. And I have to say that Wilhelmina Wang is a great nom de plume–sophisticated and exotic sounding.
Haha that’s true, I forgot about the electricity issue. I was thinking of a metaphorical island actually – or rather if you had to pick ONE sex toy to use and no other what would it be

This is great! I’d been wondering about your name and where it came from. I personally love comics like Penny Arcade, even if I don’t fully understand their jokes completely since I’ve never gamed nearly as much as these guys.
