Review: njoy Pure Plug

Another toy from lovely PinkCherry.com Sex Toys As a lover of all things anal (well... most things), I really looked forward to reviewing this one - the njoy Pure Plug (medium).

The first thing I noticed was that their packaging is lovely and classy. Nondescript, elegant black box and pink satin inside.

The second thing I noticed was the weight. The pure plug is definitely heavy. Well, medical-grade steel! What can I say? njoy specializes in steel toys, and steel is good for several reasons. Nonporous, which means easy to wash - boil or use antibacterial soap and water. You can toss it in the fridge or run it under warm water to heat it up. Personally, the temperature thing doesn't do much for me, I'm not quite sure why, but it just doesn't really make much of a difference. The weight, however, was very interesting. The weight didn't let me forget that it was there inside me for even a moment, especially when I was walking around with it in. The psychological aspect of cold, hard, unyielding steel sliding into you is also pretty awesome.

It took me a while to get used to the Pure Plug's 4" girth, since the most I've had inside my ass are two fingers and a very skinny penis. The first time I tried it out I ended up tearing myself a little Didn't use enough lube, and tried to force it in instead of letting myself relax - so, yeah, two things you definitely SHOULDN'T do. When I had gotten over that, I trained myself up to the plug, playing with my butt more during masturbation, using more and more fingers each time. It took a while for me to actually relax enough to let the plug slip in, and the first few times it didn't feel very pleasant - actually it was a bit uncomfortable. The plug felt better inside of me as I got more turned on by my ministrations elsewhere on my body. After those first few tries, I really appreciated the plug during masturbation, and in fact there was a week or so where it was a staple.

Something else I had hoped to get out of using a plug was that I wanted to stretch myself out more. On that front, the plug definitely worked as well. I could work my ass a lot easier with my fingers after using it.

Overall, the plug is an absolute dream. I can feel it stretching me open without being uncomfortable, there's no danger of it slipping out because of the tapered base, and the handle nestles unobtrusively between my buttcheeks and I can use it to pull the plug out of me with no trouble at all. I often reach for it when I'm masturbating, wear it sometimes to spice up my day (i.e. make doing homework more interesting) and I can't wait to use it on a partner.

Addendum [06/21/09]: Okay, so every gay/bi male friend I've shown this to have pooh-poohed it because they think it's way too small, so I'd recommend more experience anal players to try the large version, or the pure plug 2.0
