Review: Sensafirm Booty Balls

A8433-6 OK... I really don't have very much to say about this product. Remember how I sang the praises of the Fun Factory Bendybeads? Well, compared to that, the Sensafirm Booty Balls are distinctly underwhelming. With a name like booty balls I didn't really expect much in the first place.

They are made of "Sensafirm" material; sextoy.com lists it as a toy made of rubber, with is an instant neg. I don't know what sensafirm is composed of, but it doesn't say "phthalate-free" anywhere on the product description, is porous and so you can't share it unless you cover it with a condom first, and it apparently wears out quicker than silicone.

More importantly, I didn't like how the material felt, and sex toys are all about physical sensation, right? Compared to silicone, this material felt squishier, kind of like a lump of silly-putty. Sure, there are harder and softer types of silicone, but this material was the type of soft that did not retain it's shape after being squeezed and played with a little bit. I stored it in my drawer, and after a few days, some of the beads got "dents" from being pressed against the hard wooden surface. Not cool.

The product's softness, coupled with the size of the beads (on the larger side) made it very troublesome to insert. The spaces between the beads were also quite wide and difficult to grasp. Once they were inside me (I made it up to two beads, and only once up to three) they were quite nice, but nothing to write home about. They were difficult to push swiftly in and out because of their softness. But they definitely gave me that full, pleasant feeling I look for in anal toys.

A couple of issues I had with this toy was the "naked" string at the end of it - the string is pretty much entirely covered by the sensafirm material, except when you get to the end, where the material kind of stops, and also looks very easy to peel off. The material isn't tightly "sealed" over the string, and I can imagine dirt getting underneath and stuck in between the string and the sensafirm material. String, also, retains dirt and is difficult to wash out. And considering where these booty balls are supposed to go...

Lastly, the Sensafirm Booty Balls are advertised as being "lime green." They are not lime green. More of a forest green. And everyone knows lime green is infinitely cooler, so I was disappointed.

The most fun I had with this product was thwacking my sister on the arm with them, before I had tried them out, and making her squeal in annoyance.

If you're looking for a basic set of anal beads to try out, but aren't willing to shell out much cash, and don't mind a little more girth, the Sensafirm Booty Balls would probably make you happy - at least for a while, since I don't stand much by the cheap material.
