Contest winner: Gender Carnival!
I’d like to announce the winner of my Gender Carnival contest – drumroll please – it’s Raven Quince!
Please DM or email me your shipping info in two weeks time at the latest so you can claim your new Femblossom Heat, Tantus Ryder and Lelo Bo!
She had this to say about her gender:
Ultimately, I love being female and all the complexities that that entails. I am completely at ease with being MY type of female on the spectrum. Though, I do admit that sometimes I have difficulty relating to those on either end of that spectrum. But I remain open to understanding and don’t pass judgment. The world needs diversity. And acceptance. And equality. Within, and outside of, whatever gender you happen to be.
You can read the rest of her blog post here.
I’d also like to thank everyone who left a comment or wrote a blog post responding to my question What does gender mean to you? I received a number of interesting responses – some complex, some celebratory, some melancholy and some thought-provoking. Definitely check them out for yourself. I’m looking forward to going through them and responding to them properly, before embarking on my own series of essays/HNTs exploring gender myself.
Note on the drawing: I painstakingly assigned each person a number for each time they entered the contest, and then used the “integer generator” on Random.org to draw the winner.
