thanks. the people i’ve met in the kink community have been nothing but lovely to me, but i know it’s common to have a few snobs. i’ve been burned by communities before, though, that i thought i was a part of but turned out that i was not considered a part of by the rest of the group, and that was kind of painful and saddening. i also tend to worry too much.

i have the under the restraint system but that only works if it’s under the mattress, i think? i’m probably going to go with the cord idea. i was thinking string, but something thicker would be better.

and bamboo/tubing and string and cuffs for some kind of makeshift spreader bar. sigh

I have been told that I’m not doing it right. Bullshit. You are doing it exactly right if you are having fun, enjoying the sex, building trust and intimacy, and getting off (or not if you are mean) with your partner. Really, there is no wrong way to do it as long as your health insurance is paid up and you have a plausible explanation for scratches, whip marks, and strange objects in strange places on the x-ray. SO PLEASE RELAX and have FUN.

As for the bed with no legs…. you can buy restrain systems that go between the mattress and the box springs (Britni did an interesting review – http://britisshameless.com/2009/09/product-review-under-the-bed-restraints/), or, just get on the floor before your date, loop a strong cord around the wheels/feet, and make sure it’s long enough to be accessible. You can use a carabiner (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Assorted_Biners.jpg) to make it easy
to lock his cuffs to the ropes.

A little advanced planning goes a long way. And remember, you are doing it right.
